Before this the cat had only seen bright red 'yehji yehseh' (long tassels of dyed & fluffed up chicken feathers), today it saw black & maroon ones:

First time the cat sees the 'triangle' pattern running diagonally instead of horizontally:

Older men tie a length of plain red cloth around their crowns instead of wearing the black decorated with lotsa silver & colourful chicken feathers headdress that younger guys wear; when no red cloth available, red woollen caps, maroon balaclavas (worn folded up so as not to cover the face), orange cloth or even towels will do:
